Brett Gerald’s sentenced reduced to 35 years from 70 after Judge’s ruling
EAST FELICIANA PARISH, LA (FOX44) — Jail time was reduced by half for the drunk driver convicted of causing a crash that killed 7 people.
Brett Gerald filed a motion after he was sentenced to 70 years in prison back in March. His original sentence was 10 years in prison for each of the 7 counts of vehicular homicide.
After winning that motion today, Gerald’s sentence was dropped to 5 years for each count.
Gerald will be required to serve a minimum of 85 percent of his new sentence.
