BRPD makes several drug arrests in 2 days

Baton Rouge Police BRAVE Unit conducted several proactive patrols over a two-day period with the assistance of the Baton Rouge Police Narcotics Division.

The results of this proactive patrol totaled eight arrests, the seizure of approximately 2728 pills, half a pint of Promethazine, three ounces of Crack Cocaine, 29 grams of Synthetic Marijuana, three grams of high grade Marijuana, a Smith & Wesson 9mm, and $2,877.00.

During the evening hours of Tuesday, May 27, the BRAVE Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of North 38th St. This resulted in the seizure of Hydrocodone, Dextroamphetamine, Alprazolam, Adderal, Oxycodone, Promethazine, bottles of Sprite mixed with Promethazine, and $2,290.00.

Ronnie Jackson, 29, and Mikeshia Stewart, 26, were both charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute (PWID) Schedule II, III, IV and V Narcotics. Jackson and Stewart were later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

During the evening hours of Wednesday, May 28, the BRAVE Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Winbourne Avenue. This resulted in the seizure of Crack Cocaine, Synthetic Marijuana, high grade Marijuana, a Smith & Wesson 9mm, and $587.00.

Jason Webb, 35, was charged with PWID Schedule I Crack Cocaine.

Marcus Rowan, 28, was charged with PWID Schedule I Synthetic Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm with Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Illegal Carrying of a Firearm.

LaQuanna Collins, 28, was charged with Possession of Schedule I Marijuana.

Webb, Rowan, and Collins were later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Also on the evening of Wednesday, May 28, another traffic stop was conducted by BRAVE in the 1300 block of Fig Street. This resulted in the arrest of three individuals.

Jabari Matthews, 22, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Obstruction of Justice.

Dennis Duronslet, 20, was charged with Possession of Synthetic Marijuana.

Donald Allen, 23, was charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Mathews, Duronslet, and Allen were later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
