BRPD: Victim of overnight shooting went unnoticed for several hours

The Baton Rouge Police Department is currently investigating a murder that happened over night. Officials say the victim was not located for several hours.

Officials say the victim was apparently riding a bike in the 6200 block of Ford Street when he was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim apparently stumbled into a nearby yard and collapsed. He was discovered at roughly 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

So far investigators have not determined exactly when the murder happened. No motive or suspect has been identified at this time.

This is the 32nd homicide investigation for the Baton Rouge Police Department in 2013. This is the third homicide in the 70811 area code. Of the total cases, 21 are listed as solved with a suspect in custody.
