An arrest warrant for First-Degree Murder has been issued for Ryan Pourciau by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe he shot and killed April Vanderlinden, 39, shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
“Since Pourciau had connections to Ponchatoula High School and because of the close proximity, school officials placed the school on lockdown,” Chief Dennis Pevey, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, explained. “TPSO and LSP performed a thorough search of PHS and its perimeter just a precaution to insure our children’s safety, even though we had no information placing Pourciau there.”
Chief Pevey noted that a helicopter and thermal imager were utilized during the search for Pourciau, however, they were unable to locate him.
“Numerous tips are coming in and we will be checking out until Pourciau is taken into custody,” Chief Pevey added.
