Convicted felon arrested for rash of vehicle burglaries in Plaquemine

A convicted felon is back behind bars for allegedly committing a rash of vehicle burglaries in Plaquemine and the surrounding areas.

The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that Tyrell Henderson, 25, of Plaquemine, was arrested after he was connected to the burglaries. We’re told numerous electronic devices, jewelry, firearms and purses were found in his possession.

Henderson, who has an extensive criminal history going back to 2008, was arrested and charged with three counts of Simple Burglary of a Vehicle, Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and two counts of Possession of a Fire Arm by a Convicted Felon.

Officials remind the public that vehicle thefts go up during the holiday season. To avoid being a victim, you should keep all valuables out of sight and make sure to keep your vehicle locked.

The Plaquemine Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted with this arrest.
