Couple arrested for selling firearms to juveniles, possession of methamphetamine
NEW IBERIA, LA (FOX44) — Two adults from New Iberia were arrested today for allegedly selling stolen firearms to juveniles.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the search happened Tuesday, July 9 at roughly 5:00 a.m. A SWAT team executed the search at the home on Darnell Road.
Officials say Christopher Morris, 43, and Dawn Comeaux, 42, were both inside the home at the time of the search. Agents recovered numerous firearms as well as methamphetamine. We’re told additional property believed to be stolen was also recovered.
Morris was charged Possession of Schedule II narcotics, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and two counts of Illegal Selling of Firearms to a Juvenile.
Comeaux was charged with Possession of Schedule II Narcotics and Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
Both were booked into the Iberia Parish Prison.
