A Violet, Louisiana couple has been arrested for diesel theft charges for an incident that took place on May 29.

After the theft, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s assistance in locating two unidentified suspects who stole nearly 500 gallons of diesel fuel from the Purpera Super Stop Gas Station.

Video surveillance captured the suspects filling their white Ford E series van, and a 55 gallon drum with diesel.

In the early morning hours of June 2, patrol deputies spotted a van matching the description at the Chevron Dutchtown Market in Geismar. they found that Dutchtown Market’s diesel pump had been manipulated in order to pump the diesel without purchasing it. The diesel was being pumped in to 55 gallon drums and a number of other large containers located in the cargo area of the van.

Deputies identified the suspects as Brandon and Jairomeora Angelety of Violet, Louisiana which is near Chalmette. Both were detained until detectives arrived and took over the investigation.

Both Brandon Angelety, 32, and Jairomeora Angelety, 30, were charged with Felony Theft of Diesel from the Dutchtown Market.

The duo was also charged in connection with the May 29 Purpera Super Stop diesel thefts.
