Dangerous fugitive wanted for stealing $30 thousand in guns and jewelry
ASCENSION PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE — Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala is asking for the public's assistance in locating a fugitive wanted in connection with a residential burglary in St. Amant where nearly $30,000 worth of guns and jewelry was stolen.
Since early November detectives have been investigating the residential burglary and have now obtained an arrest warrant on Shane Medine for the burglary. Detectives have recovered almost all of the weapons that were been stolen. Bacala said that if Medine is sighted do not approach him, but instead call local authorities immediately.
The Sheriff's Sex Offender Division also holds an outstanding arrest warrant on Medine for failure to comply with sex offender registration laws. Shane Medine, 32, of Prairieville is on the run from authorities.
Detectives arrested Medine's girlfriend, Amber Gorenflo, 18, of Prairieville on November 7 in connection with the burglary. She is currently incarcerated with no bond set at this time.
