The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has arrested 2 teenagers in connection with the January 15 incident at Tara High School.

Deputies arrested 17-year-old Calen Billingsley and another 16-year-old male student and charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Campus.

18-year-old Cody East was also arrested for the same charge.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the 16-year-old female student brought an unloaded, 9mm handgun to Tara High School to sell it to another student.

Billingsley and the 16-year-old male student allegedly handled the gun after receiving it from the female student.  East allegedly left Tara High with the gun.

Cody East is the brother of Compton East, who Tara High’s School Drug Taskforce arrested with the handgun on January 15.

East, Billingsley, and the 16-year-old male student were all booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Detectives plan to obtain a warrant to arrest the 16-year-old female who originally brought the gun to school.
