Detectives arrest three, confiscate $24,000 in illegal prescription pills
DENHAM SPRINGS, LA — Three people have been arrested after a search warrant led to the discovery of apporximately 1,300 illegal prescription pills and multiple firearms.
On October 8, 2013, members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed arrest warrants and a narcotics-related search warrant at a home in the 30900 block of White Leaf Street in Denham Springs.
The investigation was started after receiving numerous complaints about Kim Brunty selling prescription medications in the Magnolia Estates area, as well as storing stolen property at her residence.
During the investigation, members of the LPSO Narcotics Division were able to make several undercover buys of Oxycodone from Brunty at the listed address. This led to the search warrant.
During the search, Narcotics Detectives located approximately 1,300 individual doses of different prescription meds - majority were Oxycodone pills - with an approximate value of $24,000 and several firearms.
Members of the LPSO Burglary Division also located several stolen items at the listed address.
Brunty, 45, was charged with four counts of Possession of Schedule II CDS, Possession of Schedule III CDS, three counts of Possession of Schedule IV CDS, Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, and Illegal Carrying of Weapon. She is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Trevor David, 19, was charged with Possession of Schedule I CDS.
Christopher Jones, 35, was charged with Illegal Possession of Stolen Things .
This investigation is ongoing. More charges are expected.
