Driver arrested for vehicular homicide in April crash
St. Mary Parish, La — State Troopers have arrested a woman in conjunction with an April crash that claimed the life of a Patterson man.
On April 15, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Tasha Boudreaux, 31, of Patterson crashed into another vehicle in the oncoming lane, driven by Jona Laborde, 41, of Youngsville.
Boudreaux and her passenger, Ryan Boudreaux, 33, of Patterson, were both wearing seat belts. Tasha Boudreaux sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Ryan Boudreaux was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Mary Parish Coroner.
Laborde and her 3-year-old passenger were properly restrained. Both were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Earlier this week, the toxicology report for Boudreaux fcame back and indicated that Boudreaux was under the influence of narcotics when the crash occurred. With the information from the report, and other information gathered during the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Boudreaux.
Boudreaux was arrested and charged with Careless Operation, Possession of Marijuana, Vehicular Negligent Injuring and Vehicular Homicide.
