A man and woman have been put in jail after they allegedly beat a Zachary man and robbed him.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, the victim told deputies he was confronted in his home by Kimberly Wambolt, 31, Randall Wright, 26 and another man that was holding a machete.

Wright accused the victim of taking money from Wambolt’s mother, which the victim denied.

Wright then allegedly took the victim's cell phone and his wallet, and punched him in the face. According to reports, the victim was beaten unconscious by several people and brought to a local hospital.

On November 3, authorities contacted Wright. He admitted to punching the victim at least three times in his face and confronting the victim about the alleged stolen money. However, Wright stated that he never took any money or cell phone.

Wambolt denied any knowledge that the attack would happen and said that she was at the victim's home to pick him up becuase she was "kind-hearted."

Wambolt and Wright were each charged with Second-Degree Robbery and transported to EBR Parish Prison.

No bond has been set for either suspect at this time.
