BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives arrested two men on Thursday in connection with the shooting that happened Wednesday, Dec. 11 on Ridge Pecan Drive.
The shooting resulted in the death of Jared Christopher Vincent, 22, and the injured of another man.
Vincent was found dead inside his apartment. Detectives also discovered a large amount of marijuana inside the apartment. There was evidence of a struggle and gunfire.
Aaron Hargrove, 19, of Prairieville, was charged with Principal to First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.
Hargrove admitted to police that he went to the apartment to purchase marijuana Wednesday morning.
He said that a short time later, he was outside the apartment when he heard gunfire.
He also admitted that he shot a fleeing men in the back.
That victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Patrick Anderson, 20, of Prairieville, was also charged with Obstruction of Justice.
According to reports, Anderson arrived at a local hospital not long after the shooting with a gunshot wound to the hand.
Anderson told officers that a family member arrived at his home with bloodstained clothes and several pistols.
The family member reportedly told Anderson that the pistols had been used in a shooting in Baton Rouge earlier that morning.
Anderson said he agreed to clean the pistols and hide them and that a pistol accidentally discharged during the course of unloading it, which resulted in his wound.
Detectives were able to recover the two hidden pistols believed to be used in the shooting.
