Walker police arrested John Grimmer,33 and Aaron Grimmer,31, sons of Ex-Livingston Parish President Mike Grimmer, after they told police they set fire to some of their stepmom's stuff.

Captain John Sharp with the Walker Police Department said early Saturday morning the two men tried to break into their father's shed which contained some of their stepmom's property. John Grimmer then tried to shoot off the lock with a gun, and when that didn't work he grabbed a power tool.

Sharp said from there the men grabbed some items from the shed and started a fire. At some point the men tried to put the fire out, and left. Later the fire kicked back into full gear and started burning down the shed.

The firefighters were called in around 7:30 a.m. State fire marshal investigators came out and determined the cause of the fire to be intentional.

Saturday afternoon Walker Police returned to the residence to collect evidence. That's when the men told police they were responsible.

They were arrested and brought to Livingston Parish Prison.

The incident occurred just after Walker Police arrested their father Mike after he and his wife allegedly got into a domestic dispute. Mike Grimmer is not a suspect in the arson or burglary investigations.
