Police have identified the man who is hospitalized in critical condition, thanks to help from the public.

“He was identified with the assistance of the media,” Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, Baton Rouge Police Department, said. “People saw the reports that were issued and recognized the man’s description. They then contacted the man’s family members and they contacted us.”

Due to his condition, police have not released his name. However, they still need to find out how he was injured.
Now that we have identified the victim, we’re hoping someone can step forward with information that will help us find out how he was hurt,” Cpl. McKneely said. “We need community to continue to help us to solve this case.”

The man was found in the 6500 block of Scenic Hwy. at roughly 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. They say he was lying in the roadway with a severe head injury.

“His condition is still grave,” Cpl. McKneely said.

The man did not have any identification on him.
