BATON ROUGE, LA — A fatal beating has landed a father in jail; his son is still at large.
Shedrick Demond Lobrano, 24, is still wanted in connection to a beating that occurred on January 5, which resulted in the victim later dying from his injuries.
Lionell Trumble, 60, was severely beaten with a board when he intervened in a physical fight between his sister and her ex-boyfriend, the elder Lobrano, on January 5 at about 10:52 p.m.
The victim had been hospitalized ever since, and died on March 12 as a direct result of his injuries.
The elder Lobrano was arrested at the scene on January 5; his son was arrested a few days later. Both were charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and later posted bond and were released.
The charges against both men have now been upgraded, to Second-Degree Murder for the younger Lobrano, and Principal to Second-Degree Murder for his father.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. today, the Baton Rouge Police Special Response Team located Shedrick L. Lobrano at his residence and took him into custody.
He was transported to the VCU office for questioning and will later be booked in at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Principle to Second-Degree Murder. His. son Shedrick Demond Lobrano is still at large.
