Father, son arrested for growing marijuana plants

A father and son have been arrested for allegedly growing marijuana inside the home they shared together.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that members of the community reported the possible drug crime to deputies. An investigation was launched and detectives say they could smell marijuana coming from the home on J.B. Averett Road.

A search was conducted of the home and two marijuana plants were found inside. They say the men used a machine to produce water and light for the plants.

Cary Caruso, 44, and his son Derek Caruso, 19, were both arrested and charged with Cultivation of Schedule I CDS (marijuana), Both men were held on a bond of $100,000.
