Fifth Baton Rouge shooting victim this week expected to survive
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A shooting incident has occurred every day in Baton Rouge this week. Fortunately, the latest victim is expected to survive.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Thursday, April 11 shortly before 10:30 p.m. We’re told the victim arrived at Earl K. Long Hospital by private transport. He was suffering from at least one gunshot injury.
Investigators have learned that the incident originally occurred while the victim was driving in the 3800 block of N. Foster, which is located in the 70806 area.
A suspect has not been identified at this time.

This week the Baton Rouge Police Department has investigated two homicides and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has had one. The first incident involved a suspect who attacked two police officers when they were responding to an altercation. The second was the death of a 23-year-old man who was gunned down while sitting on his porch. The case the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute where a man shot his wife (who survived) and stepdaughter (who died).
There have been 20 homicide investigations in East Baton Rouge Parish during 2013. All of those incidents occurred within Baton Rouge. Of those, 17 have occurred within BRPD’s jurisdiction and the remaining 3 have been within the Sheriffs.
