Final suspect arrested for 2012 murder during robbery attempt
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A 21-year-old who evaded police capture for several months was arrested last night. He’s accused of killing a man during an attempted robbery back in August 2012.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Jerron Davis was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing Travis Holland, 24, of Baton Rouge. Davis was identified as a possible suspect at the end of December.
The incident occurred on August 6 at roughly 10:30 p.m. Holland was found suffering from a single gunshot wound inside his apartment located in the 3200 block of Wyoming Street. He was transported to a local hospital, where he eventually died as a result of his injuries.
Investigators learned that Holland was actually in the front yard of the complex when two men approached him and attempted to rob him. A 16-year-old was arrested shortly after the shooting occurred and was charged with First-Degree murder.
Davis is charged with First-Degree Murder and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
