A man that escaped police custody in Welsh after being brought in is on the run.

Damien Guidry, 33, was arrested after being pulled over by authorities for a federal warrant on July 19.

Guidry was taken to the Welsh Police Department and escaped custody after an officer turned his back on him.

The Louisiana State Police and the US Marshals are aiding in bringing this fugitive in.

Guidry is said to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. He was arrested earlier this year on firearms charges in Lafayette.

Anyone with information should call the Welsh Police Department at 337-734-2626 or your local law enforcement agency.
