Hammond man arrested after stabbing female victim with screwdriver

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Department has charged a man with battery charges after a domestic dispute with a female.

On April 5 at approximately 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to a Wardline Road residence in reference a physical altercation.

Authorities learned that the suspect was engaged in an argument with a female subject when he armed himself with a screwdriver and began to stabbing her.

She fled to a nearby residence for her safety.

Deputies then attempted to locate Daniel Evans, 26, at his residence to no avail.

Officials then contacted the homeowner, who agreed to open the residence. Evans was found laying on the floor hiding under a blanket.

Subsequently, Evans was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Second-Degree Battery.
