Hammond parole check leads to 2 arrests

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on narcotics charges.

Robert Wayne Gatlin (40) and Dedrick J. Johnson (30) were taken into custody after allegedly possessing crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Detectives were working a probation and parole check on Howard Johnson road, when they spotted Gatlin and Johnson. According to investigators, Johnson discarded a container of crack cocaine, as detectives approached him. Gatlin was allegedlyfound to be in possession of a glass crack pipe.

Investigators searched Johnson and found $227 in cash. Johnson was charged with possession with the intent to distribute. Gatlin was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
