Homeowner shot during robbery attempt in St. Martinville; suspects wanted
ST. MARTINVILLE, LA (FOX44) — The victim of a home invasion is recovering in the hospital after being shot early this morning.
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday, April 30. We’re told four black males wearing masks and gloves broke into a home on Jeffery Broussard in Poche Bridge.
Officials tell NBC33 News that the home invasion was an attempted robbery. However, they did not say whether any items were taken from the residence.
During the incident the homeowner was shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition. We’re told there were other people in the home at the time the incident occurred and they were unharmed.
