Intoxicated man arrested for threatening woman with machete

A man was arrested after he threatened a woman with a machete.

The Houma Police Department responded to the call on Sunday, June 3 shortly after 11:00 p.m. We’re told the suspect, Michael Amacker, 51, yelled at the victim, then pulled out a machete. He allegedly threatened to cut the woman.

When officers located Amaker he had the machete in his possession with the handle sticking up out of his pants. They say he appeared to be highly intoxicated and was holding an alcoholic beverage in his hand.

Amacker was arrested for Aggravated Assault, Disturbing the Peace by Intoxication, and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.
