A man was arrested after he was caught driving a stolen bulldozer down Highway 24 in Bourg, La.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the suspect, Jmikel Verdin, 20, of Houma, allegedly stole the bulldozer from a nearby residence on Saturday, July 6. They say his “joyride” caused several thousands of dollars worth of damage to the construction vehicle.

Deputies say Verdin refused to cooperate after they placed him into custody for the crime. He allegedly refused to give his name, and kicked the door of the deputy’s unit.

Verdin was arrested and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespassing, Felony Simple Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting an Officer, and Driving without a License. His bond was set at $130,000.
