A Lake Charles man was arrested for cruelty after he allegedly pushed and injured an elderly family member on two separate occasions.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s office reports that the first incident occurred on March 4, 2013. The 76-year-old victim claims that William Brent Rodgers, 45, pushed him into the bathroom wall, causing him minor injures.

Officials did not list the date that the second instance occurred. However, they did say that Rodgers pushed the same victim and caused him to fall into the bathtub and hit his head.

Rodgers was arrested and charged with two counts of Cruelty to the Infirmed. He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on a bond of $150,000. A stay-away order was issued by Judge Michael Canaday. It prevents him from having any further contact with the victim.
