A man was arrested last night after he allegedly murdered his step-father during a domestic dispute.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to the home on Eunice Road in St. Martinville on Tuesday, July 3. When they arrived, they found the victim, Sam Guidry, 56, lying in a pool of blood inside the home.

Guidry was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators learned that Guidry’s step-son, Clyde Akers, IV, 30, was responsible for the injuries. We’re told the two were involved in a physical fight, but officials did not say how the fatal injuries were caused.

Akers was arrested and charged with Manslaughter. He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
