Man hits, kicks deputies after arrest for domestic assault

A Tickfaw man allegedly kicked and hit deputies when they attempted to arrest him for assault.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were dispatched to a home on Hwy 442 on Friday, May 24 in regards to a disturbance. Officials say the suspect, Daniel Bridges, 51, was accused of physically assaulting another person in the home.

When deputies attempted to place Bridges under arrest, he allegedly tried to flee. He forcefully resisted restraint and landed blows.

Bridges was eventually subdued and taken into custody at roughly 2:30 a.m. He was booked and charged with two counts of Resisting Arrest by Force and Battery on a Police Officer.
