SCOTT, LA — A Scott man has been arrested after returning to the scene of a domestic dispute and striking police officers.
On Tuesday, November 5, at 12:26 p.m., Scott Police Officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance in progress at a home in the 100 block of Canyon Street.
While officers were speaking to the female party involved, the male party, David M. O’Howell, 35, returned to residence driving in a reckless manner. O’Howell exited his vehicle and proclaimed: “It’s on now!”
When officers attempted to calm O’Howell down, he struck an officer. Authorities then brought him down to the ground with pepper spray and strikes. He was then handcuffed.
O’Howell headbutted one officer while being secured; he got pepper spray yet again and put in leg restraints.
O’Howell was charged with two counts of Battery of a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies.
O’Howell is a convicted felon and was found to be in possession of several firearms, including assault rifles, shotguns, and handguns. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on all charges.
