Man robs daiquiri shop during business hours

Gonzales police are looking for a man that robbed a local daiquiri shop.

On August 14 at around 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a call for service referencing an armed robbery at New Orleans Daiquiri, located at the corner of Airline Hwy. and Churchpoint Rd.

An undisclosed amount of cash was surrendered to the perpetrator.

Witnesses described the assailant as a w/m subject, approx. 5’6’-5’8” tall, slim build and approx. mid to late 20’s.

The subject approached the business on foot from the rear of the building and entered through the front lobby doors with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. He left the scene through the rear of the building fleeing on foot.

The subject was last observed wearing dark colored pants, tennis shoes, black gloves with white writing on the top, a full faced ski mask and a purple long sleeved LSU hoodie which was pulled over his head.

Investigators are asking anyone with any information to the identity of this suspect or about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers or the Gonzales Police Dept at 225-647-9536.
