Man robs Geismar bank wearing motorcycle helmet

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed a bank in Geismar.

According to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet walked into the Red River Bank at the corner of Highway 73 and Highway 74, around 12:30 p.m. on February 19.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the bank’s employees. He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators believe the suspect sped away from the bank with an accomplice in a light colored 4-door sedan, heading south on Highway 73.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’1’’ in height with a slim to medium build, and was wearing a light jacket.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward and Red River Bank is offering a $2,500 reward.
