A man has been arrested after he threatened to blow up a Wal-Mart store in Iberia Parish.

On August 19 at around 4:50 p.m., deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office were called out to a bomb threat.

Store personnel told deputies that a black male, wearing a white shirt, brown pants and black hat with a white towel under the hat, told employees twice that he had a bomb in his duffel bag.

Store personnel then stated the suspect left the business riding a pink bicycle.

Deputies searched the area and located a person matching the same description of the suspect from the bomb threat.

The suspect was found located at Admiral Doyle and Weeks Street, where he was detained and questioned.

Johnall Lanieu, 48, of New Iberia was arrested for Communicating False Information of a Planned Arson and was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

No explosive devices were located on Lanieu.
