Missing BR teen found safe in St. John the Baptist Parish

UPDATE 4:43pm: The Baton Rouge teen was found today in St. John the Baptist Parish in LaPlace, La. with the male suspect, John Landis Lamberson III, 41, at approximately 12:15 p.m. while at a local gas station. Residents in the area recognized her from the news and contacted the local law enforcement agency.

St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office took custody of both the teen and Lamberson. Lamberson will be charged with criminal charges in St. John the Baptist Parish and will be transferred to EBR Parish for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile and Principal to Unauthorized Use of a Movable.

The teen was in good health. Investigation is ongoing.
 


4:26pm 6-19-14: St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the missing 16-year-old, Kathryn Labauve, has been found safe and in good health.

The Sheriff's Office could not release further information, but we will provide updates as they become available.


ORIGINAL 6-18-14: East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a 16-year-old Baton Rouge girl that they believe ran away from home early Tuesday morning or Monday night.

Kathryn Labauve, 16, of Baton Rouge is believed to have taken her mother’s 2007 powder blue Toyota RAV with an LSU license plate.

Detectives are also looking for 41 -year-old John Lamberson, of Baton Rouge, LA, who may have information pertaining to Labauve’s whereabouts.

The vehicle was spotted Tuesday in Lafayette and St. Martin parishes. It was seen in LaPlace, Louisiana, Tuesday night headed east on I-10. Labauve could possibly be headed toward Florida.
