More arrests made in Gonzales home invasion shooting

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Major Kevin Hanna reports additional arrests in reference to the October 10 shooting that left one man injured on Ashland Road in Gonzales.

On October 10, deputies began an investigation of a shooting that left Brent “Smoke” York, 34, with a gunshot wound to his legs.

Detectives learned that York had several friends at his residence when a number of armed suspects forced their way into the home yelling “police, get down.” The suspects entered the residence demanding money at which time a number of shots were fired which resulted in York being shot. Also, reported in an earlier release, York’s friends were arrested after a search of York’s home resulted in the seizure of narcotics and a stolen gun.

Following a week long, intense investigation detectives developed five suspects that were responsible for the home invasion and the shooting of York.

As the investigation continued, it was also learned by detectives that one of the suspects responsible for the home invasion and shooting was possibly shot by one of his co-conspirators.

The suspects were identified as Kristen Theriot, Bryan Richard, Shalen Theriot, Mickey Comeaux, and Darrell Comeaux were the armed subjects who entered the residence on Ashland Road in Gonzales.

Kristen Theriot, 26, of Livingston, was arrested and charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Home Invasion on October 18. Her bond has been set at $265,000.

Bryan Richard, 52, of Brusly, was arrested and charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Home Invasion on October 19. His bond has been set at $350,000.

Shalen Theriot, 38, of Walker, was arrested and charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Home Invasion on October 19. His bond has been set at $350,000. During Theriot’s arrest detectives confirmed that he did in fact suffer from a gunshot wound but he was unclear on who shot him.

Mickey Comeaux, 35, and his brother Darrell Comeaux, 38, both of Brusly are both currently incarcerated in other local jurisdictions on unrelated charges. They will be transferred to Ascension Parish Jail at a later date where they will be charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Home Invasion.

 

Brent “Smoke” York, was released from the hospital and has been arrested and charged with distribution or1 manufacture or Possession With Intent Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), Possession of I CDS (MDMA), Possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana), Possession of Schedule III CDS (steroids), Possession of Schedule II CDS (oxycodone), Possession of Schedule IV CDS (xanax), Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (stolen weapon located in home), Illegal Carrying of Weapon (stolen weapon located in home), Carrying of Firearm by Convicted Felon (stolen weapon located in home), and Prohibited Acts/Drug Paraphernalia.
