BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A Baton Rouge mother and her two sons are behind bars for inciting a riot at a gathering on New Year's Day.
Kimberly Dean and her sons James and Devin Dean were all arrested after a large family fight involving at least six family members.
At least one elderly family member was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit with a blunt object.
Police say the three are charged with inciting a riot because, instead of stopping the fight, they encouraged it.
"They were fighting out there, and one of the guys got struck in the head, and we found out there were some gunshots being fired,” reported Corporal L’Jean Mckneely. “Luckily no one was [shot], but we have the shell casings. But we're looking for the guy that struck the family member in the head."
Police say more arrests are possible in this case. They say the fight started over a domestic dispute.
