Mandeville authorities have arrested a moving company owner after extorting money from a customer.

Police have arrested “Mr. Move” company owner, Dunwoodie McDuffie, 45, of Metairie.

On May 29, a female complainant alleged that the “Mr. Move” Moving Company was withholding her possessions in ex-change for a grossly inflated bill.

The victim reported that her previous quote of approximately $700.00 was raised to over of $2000.00 without any justification and only after the movers secured her property on their truck.

After reviewing the facts and conducting an extensive background investigation, detectives deemed this incident to be criminal in nature as opposed to a mere civil dispute over a bill for services rendered.

McDuffie was charged with Extortion and Unauthorized use of a Movable. The investigarion is still ongoing.
