Saints WR Joe Morgan arrested on DWI charges

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan was arrested for DWI and driving with no license on May 25 by Louisiana State Police.

A state trooper noticed a man sleeping in his car while behind the wheel on the on the Earhart Expressway near Causeway.

The trooper woke Morgan. According to the trooper's report, Morgan smelled of alcohol, had bloddshot eyes and was swaying while he was standing up.

Morgan was given a field sobriety test and performed poorly on it.

He was taken to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna, where his blood alcohol content registered 0.218 percent, which is more than double the 0.08 percent limit. Morgan also did not have a valid driver’s license.

Morgan was released later that day on a $1,150 bond.

The Saints have declined to comment on Morgan's arrest.
