Second offense DWI driver fights with officer after crashing vehicle into fence

A second offence drunk driver was arrested after he allegedly crashed his car, then fought with police.

According to the arrest report, Robert Charles Jordan, 32, of Baton Rouge, tried to fight officers when the attempted to handcuff him once he was released from the emergency room.

Jordan was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, June 11 after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a fence located in the 5500 block of Maplewood. An officer who responded to the scene noted that his speech was slurred, eyes were red, and he smelled like alcohol.

Once at the hospital, the officer asked Jordan to submit a blood sample for chemical testing. He allegedly refused and became hostile.

Jordan was arrested and charged with DWI (second offense), Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle, and Resisting an Officer. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Jordan’s prior DWI arrest was in December 2007.
