Second suspect arrested in connection to double homicide in Thibodaux

A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a double homicide.

The Thibodaux Police Department arrested Brian Jones, 18, and charged him with two counts of Principal to Second-Degree Murder. He is locked up in the Lafourche Parish Prison on a bond of $1 million.

The shooting took place on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at roughly 10:00 p.m. The victims were Tre Scott, 19, and Jordy Williams, 26, both of Thibodaux.That night, police arrested Alfred Starks, 19, after he was identified as the gunman.

“Police learned that the two deceased were meeting Alfred Starks and Brian Jones to sell them illegal narcotics,” David Melancon, Thibodaux Police Department, said. “We recovered marijuana at the scene.”

Starks is facing additional charges for an incident that happened the night prior to the homicides. He’s accused of firing a gun multiple times at a victim who was located near the intersection of St. Charles and East 12th Street.

Starks is also being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. His bond was set at $5.1 million.
