Slidell man found with stolen weapons, body armor, drugs
Slidell, La — After conducting a search warrant on the afternoon of May 10, Slidell Police recovered stolen firearms, assault rifles, body armor, and narcotics at the home of Christopher Bass, 24.
During a recent investigation into a rash of residential and vehicle burglaries, Slidell Police detectives received information about Bass being in possession of a stolen firearm, as well as several assault rifles.
After obtaining a search warrant for his residence, Slidell Police located a stolen Springfield .40 caliber handgun, an AK-47 assault rifle, an SKS assault rifle (Russian version of an AK-47), body armor, a ballistic helmet, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia.
During the early stages of the investigation, police discovered that the Springfield .40 caliber handgun was stolen in a recent vehicle burglary in Slidell. Investigators are still attempting to determine the owner of the assault rifles, body armor, and ballistic helmet.
Bass was charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm, three counts of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of Body Armor, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
