Sulphur man arrested second time in a year on juvenile cruelty charges
CALCASIEU PARISH, LA — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Brandon L. Sullivan, 32, of Sulphur, and booked him into the Calcasieu Correctional Center for a second time in a little over a year. He is charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
On October 18, CPSO deputies responded to a complaint from the Department of Children and Family Services regarding Sullivan physically abusing a 9-year-old family member.
Deputies learned Sullivan struck the victim with his hand, causing numerous bruises on his lower back and buttocks. When questioned by detectives, Sullivan confirmed the allegations.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and released on a $2,000 bond set by Judge Wilford Carter.
Sullivan was previously arrested on September 6, 2012, after an investigation revealed he used duct tape to tie up a 6-year-old family member’s hands, wrists, ankles, and also put duct tape around the victim’s head. For that incident, he was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with Cruelty to a Juvenile and released on a $3,500 bond on January 16, 2013.
