Suspect arrested in Lafayette overnight shooting

A Lafayette man has been arrested in conjunction with an overnight shooting.

On October 30 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 400 block of Marne Street regarding a shooting.

The victim, an 18-year-old Lafayette man, told officials that he was involved in a disturbance with the suspect, who later returned and shot him in the left foot with a handgun.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The alleged suspect, Demarcus Bernard,18, of Lafayette, was later located and arrested for Aggravated Battery.

The investigation remains ongoing.
