Shortly before midnight on Sept. 18, LSU Police arrested William Bouvay, Jr., 42, of Baton Rouge. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Communicating False Information of Planned Bombing.

LSU and LSU Police Department would like extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all Law Enforcement that assisted in the initial response and subsequent investigation. The cooperation, assistance and old fashioned police work was instrumental in a quick resolution to this incident," stated LSU Police Chief Lawrence Rabalais.

Bouvay is accused of calling EBR Parish 911 Monday, Sept. 17 at around 10:30 a.m. saying there was a bomb on campus. An hour later, officials made the call to evacuate all 30,000 people on campus.

After a 12 hour lockdown and search of all the buldings on campus, no bomb was found.
