BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Suspect says he used drug money to pay child support
East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested Kelvin Ronelle Johnson Jr. on Wednesday, Jan. 15 for drug and firearm charges.
When deputies searched Johnson’s house, he was not at home. Inside the home, they found cocaine, marijuana, and an illegal firearm.
Police interviewed two other individuals who were at the residence at the time. Both of them stated that all of the items found in the search must belong to Johnson.
When Johnson arrived on the scene, officers took him into custody without incident.
Johnson told police that the crack cocaine, digital scale, and firearm were his. He had reportedly placed the cocaine and scale under the house next door to his four days prior to the search.
Johnson further stated that he’d been selling crack cocaine for over six months and used the money to pay his child support bills.
Johnson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
