Suspect wanted in Lafayette attempted murder

A suspect is wanted in conjunction with a shooting that took place on July 27.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 2300 block of Moss Street regarding a shooting.

The victim told police that he was near the intersection of Van Buren and Moss Street, when he and the suspect, Ladontray Chaisson, 19, started arguing.

The victim fled in a vehicle and was pursued by Chaisson in another vehicle. Chaisson then fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle, striking the victim once in the leg.

The suspect fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital and remains in stable condition.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Chaisson for Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

Chaisson was last seen in a a 4-door green vehicle.
