Teen arrested for brining loaded handgun to Glen Oaks High School

An 8th grader at Glen Oaks High School was arrested today for allegedly brining a loaded gun on campus.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a teacher saw a 15-year-old student place something in his sock at some point during the morning on Monday, April 15. A Resource Officer at the school searched the student and found a loaded .22 revolver.

Officials say the student provided no explanation for brining the weapon to the school. It was determined that no threats were made.

The teen was arrested and charged with Illegal Carrying of a Weapon on School Property. He was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
