Three arrested on drug charges at home on Pookey Lane in Ascension Parish
ASCENSION PARISH, LA — Three people have been arrested following an investigation into illegal activity happening in Ascension Parish around La. 73 and I-10.
On August 10, narcotics detectives began conducting surveillance on the trailer park. On August 23, two weeks into the investigation, detectives observed two subjects walk from the trailer park onto Mission Street off of La. 73 and make what appeared to be hand to hand drug transaction with an unidentified black male in a vehicle who was parked in the middle of the street. Mission Street is a heavily populated area with a variety of businesses and vehicle traffic.
During the drug transaction narcotics detectives approached the two who were identified as Thomas Dotson and Scott Landry. Detectives found them in possession of crack cocaine and the two confessed to just purchasing it from the unknown black male who fled before detectives could detain him. The investigation is still ongoing into the identity of the black male who sold the drugs. Detectives then went to Dotson’s home on Pookey Lane and searched for more drugs.
During the search they located a female in the home who was also taken into custody. She was identified as Barbara Stoker. Detectives seized additional crack cocaine, marijuana, Gabapentin pills, and drug paraphernalia in Dotson’s home.
Thomas Dotson, 38, of Geismar, was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of possession of schedule II (Cocaine), possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule I (marijuana). His bond was set at $16,085 by Judge Holdridge.
Scott Landry, 40, of Geismar, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II CDS (cocaine). He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where his bond was set at $5,000 by Judge Holdridge.
Barbara Stoker, 48, of Geismar, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II (Cocaine), possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule I (marijuana). Her bond was set at $16,085 by Judge Holdridge.
