Three arrested for heroin possession, distribution in Gonzales

Multiple people were arrested in Gonzales after a two-week investigation into a man who was selling heroin.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the investigation was launched against Robert “Bob” Stafford, 37, in mid-March. On Monday, April 1, narcotics detectives observed Stafford and Brittany Medine, 29, conducting a drug transaction in the parking lot of a local business in Gonzales.

Both Stafford and Medine were found to be in possession of heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Detectives also seized a large quantity of cash from alleged proceeds of drug transactions conducted by Stafford.

Detectives also arrested Wiley Mahurin, Jr., 43, for possession of the heroin he allegedly purchased from Stafford. All three suspects were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Stafford was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (heroin), Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (marijuana), Distribution of Schedule I CDS (heroin), and Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (cocaine). His bond was set at $155,342.50.

Medine was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Schedule II CDS (cocaine), Principal/Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (heroin), Principal/Distribution of Schedule I CDS (heroin), Principal/Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (cocaine), and Failure to Appear in Court. her bond was set at $160,342.50.

Mahurin, Jr. was charged with Possession of Schedule I CDS (heroin), and Two Counts Contempt of Court. His bond was set at $25,000.
