Two arrested for connection with murder of high school freshman from LaPlace
LAPLACE, LA (fox44) — Two men have been arrested for the murder of a 16-year-old boy from LaPlace.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that Ali Batiste, 19, was charged with Second-Degree Murder and Aaron Gregoire, 19, was charged with Accessory After the Fact to Second-Degree Murder.
The investigation began on Saturday, May 25 shortly after 11:00 p.m. Investigators were dispatched to clear the crowd at a large party located on Amy Drive. While deputies were dealing with the crowd, they heard gunshots.
The shots were fired at a home several houses down from the location of the party. Kyrian Gray was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest, where he later died.
Gray was a freshman at East St. John High School.
