Two men have been arrested for allegedly robbing and shooting a man early this morning.

The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Phillip Carter, 21, and Robert Pierson, 17, both of Port Allen. We’re told the two were arrested shortly after the incident occurred.

Detectives were called to the Chevron gas station on St. Ferdinand Street at roughly 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7. When they arrived they found the 42 year old victim on the ground next to an 18 wheeler suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officials say a K9 unit tracked Carter and Pierson shortly after the incident occurred and they were apprehended.

Carter and Pierson were both booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Armed Robbery, Attempted First-Degree Murder, and Resisting Arrest.
